Axis launches rapid response service for policyholders hit by cyber incident

Axis Capital Holdings Limited has announced the launch of Axis Cyber Incident Commander, a new service designed to offer immediate assistance to US-based, direct primary cyber insurance customers facing cyber incidents.

Axis Cyber Incident Commander is engineered to deliver rapid, streamlined support, ensuring that businesses can quickly resume operations and minimize the damage from cyber attacks. The service offers a single point of contact for policyholders, connecting them with experienced cyber experts who provide immediate guidance.

The Incident Commander service includes a suite of critical support services such as legal counsel, digital forensics, incident response, and crisis and reputational management. These services are provided by trusted third-party vendors who have established working relationships with Axis Cyber Risk Advisory and Cyber Claims teams, ensuring a coordinated and efficient recovery process.

"By providing streamlined, rapid access to the services customers need in a cyber incident, Axis Cyber Incident Commander aims to help get businesses back up and running more quickly, minimize the impact of the incident, and reduce the stress in what can be a complex and unnerving process," said David Shluger, head of cyber risk advisory at Axis.

Incident Commander is available 24/7, 365 days a year, offering complimentary rapid triage and support services. Policyholders can access these services via email or phone from the moment an incident occurs and continue to receive support throughout the process until the case transitions smoothly to the Cyber Claims team for further management.

Nicholas P.R. Steinmann, who joined Axis in May this year, will lead Incident Commander. Based in New York, Steinmann brings a wealth of experience in digital forensics and incident response, further enhancing the capabilities of the Axis Cyber Risk Advisory team.

Lori Bailey, head of global cyber & technology at AXIS, highlighted the importance of understanding and mitigating cyber threats. “Elevating understanding of cyber threats and how to strengthen defenses against them is at the heart of what we do within Axis Cyber Risk Advisory. The launch of Incident Commander, and the appointment of Nick to our team, enables us to expand the risk advisory solutions we provide to help businesses prepare, protect, and respond to cyber risks amid an evolving cyber risk landscape,” Bailey said.
