CFC Canada swoops on Coalition for cyber leader

CFC Canada has announced the appointment of Kelly McGuinness as the new cyber, tech, and professional liability development leader, marking the first major appointment by newly appointed chief executive, Kate Della Mora.

McGuinness joins CFC from Coalition, where she spent the last three and a half years, most recently serving as Team Lead Canada, Production Underwriting, and Business Development.

She will be based in CFC’s inaugural Canadian office in Toronto and will work closely with both Della Mora and CFC’s existing UK-based teams to provide enhanced support to Canadian brokers across the country.

Expressing her enthusiasm for McGuinness's appointment, Kate Della Mora, chief executive of CFC Canada, said, “I am thrilled to welcome Kelly to the new team that we’re building here in Canada. Her technical knowledge, relationships, and professionalism are second to none, and she will be a huge asset to our business as we seek to deepen our partnerships with brokers across the country. I couldn’t ask for a better first appointment and look forward to working alongside Kelly as we continue the amazing growth trajectory of CFC in Canada.”

Kelly McGuinness brings over a decade of industry experience, specializing in cyber and tech insurance. Her extensive background and expertise are expected to significantly bolster CFC’s efforts to expand and strengthen its presence in the Canadian market.

“CFC is the recognized pioneer of cyber insurance here in Canada and is the market leader for a reason – its product proposition is second to none and it has led the way in the development of proactive cyber protection,” said McGuinness. “But CFC is so much more than cyber, and I’m looking forward to working with Kate and my talented colleagues based in the UK as we continue to expand our Canadian business.”

The opening of CFC’s first office in Canada and the appointment of McGuinness signify a strategic move to enhance support and deepen partnerships with brokers throughout the country.
