Probitas 1492 hires from Munich Re for head of cyber

Lloyd’s syndicate Probitas 1492 has appointed Ezeugo Aguta as head of cyber strategy and innovation.

Aguta was previously a cyber specialist at Munich Re.

As well as underwriting, Zugo will spearhead the build-out of the syndicate’s technical capabilities in Probitas Labs.

The syndicate hopes Probitas Labs will become “the market’s center of excellence for cyber”.

The goal is to continually generate fresh insights on risk analysis by developing products, services, and partnerships with industry experts to support and enhance cyber risk transfer within the market.

Probitas Labs will focus on three main areas: Cyber research and development, including data analytics and market platforms, client and vendor services, which will help support clients before, during and after a breach and, lastly, thought leadership.

Richard Taylor, head of cyber & technology at Probitas 1492, said, “It’s a great time to welcome Zugo to the team at Probitas, as there is an opportunity to build a cyber proposition that gives back to the market whilst providing services insureds have been yearning for.”

Zugo said he was excited to join Probitas and “continue establishing our unique value proposition to the market”.
